Online credit card, e-check payments to be accepted beginning in 2022
TIFFIN, OHIO – Dec. 21, 2021 – Beginning on Jan. 1, 2022, the City of Tiffin will be offering an online payment option for all City services, including sewer bills, income tax and engineering permits. In-person and mail payment options will continue to be accepted.
Online credit card and e-check payments are provided by a secure third-party platform. A 2.75 percent transaction fee is to be charged for credit card payments and legislation is being considered by Tiffin City Council for a fee to be assessed in the case of a returned check. Details on how to make payments online will be available in the first part of 2022. This year, the City of Tiffin Income Tax Department also began offering the option for residents to file their tax return online.
Citizens who are unable to or do not wish to pay online may still drop off bills at the Tiffin City Hall Annex, 53 E. Market St., Tiffin, or send payments through the mail with their bills.
Finance Director Kathleen Kaufman said that many residents have been asking for this service for a while. “This has been a long time coming, and I’m very confident that we’ve chosen a high-quality service provider.”
