The City of Tiffin Shade Tree Commission invites the public to join them at 10 a.m. on Friday, April 26, 2024 to celebrate Arbor Day with a ceremonial tree planting and a Mayoral Proclamation. The planting location is Stalter Park, at the corner of Clinton and Ohio Avenues in Tiffin. Attendees will enjoy words from Michael Pinkston, the Chair of the Commission, an Arbor Day Proclamation from Mayor Lee W. Wilkinson, and a tree planting ceremony.
The tree to be planted was donated by the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) in honor of their 75th anniversary. ODNR is planting one tree in every county this year to celebrate, so Tiffin’s Arbor Day event is also Seneca County’s opportunity to plant a living memorial of this statewide milestone.
Tiffin has achieved great success with its trees over the past year, including its 43rd Tree City award, an Arbor Day Foundation Growth Award, and receipt of an Inflation Reduction Act grant for $50,000 to apply towards its Urban Forest over the next year.
