Public Records Video Request Fee
Under House Bill 315, the statutory fee structure allows for an hourly rate of $75 per hour of video produced, with a cap of $750 per video request. The statute defines "actual cost" as encompassing all expenses related to: Reviewing; Redacting, blurring, or obscuring content; Uploading or producing video records; Storage media costs; Personnel time and other associated overhead. To develop a fair and reasonable fee structure, Tiffin Police Department reviewed the wages of the departmental personnel responsible for handling those requests and the resource costs associated with fulfilling those requests and determined the fee schedule for public requests for Body-Worn and Dash Cam footage below.
